Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the world, particularly in the USA and it has now taken a firm hold here at the St. Clement's Sports Hub.
Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis to create a highly addictive sport.
It offers regular coaching sessions, social play events and competitive leagues that are open to all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Why not give it a go?
Working closely with St Clement's Sports Hub and Jersey Sport, Rock Pickleball has been established to help develop the sport in Jersey and create more opportunities for Islanders to get involved.
As Jersey's first accredited pickleball club, Rock Pickleball has achieved Green Status under Jersey Sport's Safe and Sustainable Sport Framework and is affiliated with Pickleball England.
The club will be based at the newly resurfaced outdoor courts at St Clement's Sports Hub, with a strong emphasis on making playing opportunities accessible to the wider community.
Chairman Sean Pontin said:
“Our focus is on making sure anyone who wants to play has the opportunity to do so. We want people to feel welcome, whether they are completely new to the game or already playing regularly.”
Rock Pickleball is also keen to build on the great work already being done across Jersey, working alongside existing venues and groups to complement, rather than compete with, the opportunities already available.
